FAQ
Will a composite spacer expand differently from the aluminium frame?
No. Our warm edge spacer has a coefficient of linear expansion of (2.5–3)×10-5 K-1, closely matched to aluminium’s 2.3×10-5 K-1. Mismatched expansion rates are a genuine cause of insulating glass seal failure over time, so because these two figures sit close together, thermal cycling does not create that risk.
Do you have EN 1279 test reports for the European market?
Yes. Our warm edge spacer is tested under EN 1279 for moisture penetration and gas leakage rate. We can send the full report set before you quote a project, so you have the documentation in hand when your customer asks for it.
How much can warm edge spacer improve a window’s K-value?
Replacing a standard aluminium spacer with our warm edge spacer typically brings the overall window K-value down by 15%–30%, depending on the glazing make-up and the frame. The gain comes from the glass edge, which is where a conventional aluminium spacer loses the most heat.
What is the thermal conductivity of your warm edge spacer?
Our fibreglass warm edge spacer is tested at 0.14 W/(m·K), against roughly 160 W/(m·K) for a standard aluminium spacer bar. Testing is against JC/T 2453-2018 by a CNAS / CMA-accredited third-party laboratory, and the full report is available on request.
What is your minimum order quantity for a trial?
We accept trial orders well below container volume, so you can test the material with your own customers before committing to a full production run. Tell us the specification and your target volume and we will quote both the trial quantity and the production price, so you can see the full picture before you decide.
What is your lead time, and how reliable is it?
Stock items ship within a few working days; custom specifications are typically 15–25 days, depending on volume and whether new tooling is needed. We run our own 21,000 m² factory rather than outsourcing production, so the schedule is ours to control — we confirm a shipping date before you place the order and hold to it.
What colours are available, and can you match a specific one?
Black and grey are our standard stock colours. Other colours can be produced to order for volume purchases — useful when the spacer has to sit invisibly against a dark window frame. Tell us the frame colour or RAL reference you need to match and we will advise what is achievable and at what quantity.
Can you produce warm edge spacer to our own specifications?
Yes. Width, height, colour and coil length can all be made to your drawing or sample, and we supply aluminum spacer bar and corner keys to custom sizes as well. Send us your specification and we will confirm feasibility and any tooling requirements before you commit to an order.
